Name: "Taipei Water Journey" Environmental Education Promotion Program
Purpose:To enhance public awareness, appreciation, and protection of water resources and related issues. Taipei City is the only local government in Taiwan that self-operates reservoirs, water supply, and sewage systems. Therefore, the Taipei City Government has integrated water resource environmental education across various departments to launch the "Taipei Water Journey" environmental education program. The Plan connects the environmental education venues under the jurisdiction of the Feitsui Reservoir Administration, Taipei Water Department, Sewage Systems Office, and Hydraulic Engineering Office. It encompasses water sources, tap water and sewage treatment, reclaimed water, and hydraulic flood prevention aspects, designing a holistic water resource environmental education curriculum. School classes and social groups can register for free. This allows participants to simply yet profoundly experience the domestic water cycle in Taipei, appreciate water resources, understand how the City coexists with water, and experience the outcomes of sustainable water resources in Taipei which are closely related to daily life, becoming "seeds" for water resource conservation.
Event Duration: Tuesdays to Fridays during annual working days.
Location:
Feitsui Reservoir - No.43, Section 3, Xinwu Road, Xindian District, New Taipei City
Taipei Water Park - No.1 Siyuan Street, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City
Dihua Sewage Treatment Plant - No.235 Jiuquan Street, Datong District, Taipei City
Neihu Sewage Treatment Plant - No. 2, Section 2, Jiuzong Road, Neihu District, Taipei City
Xinsheng Jianguo Pumping Station - (No. 3, Binjiang Street, Zhongshan Distric, Taipei City)
Organizers: Taipei Feitsui Reservoir Administration, Taipei Water Department, Sewerage Systems Office, Hydraulic Engineering Office
Participants: Group registration is required and participation is free (however, costs for transportation, meals, and travel personal insurance must be covered by the group). Target audiences are:
(1) Taipei City elementary and junior high schools: Register by class unit. Appropriate service volume is approximately 30 participants per session. 120 sessions are planned annually.
(2) Taipei City senior high schools (and above): Register by class unit. Appropriate service volume is approximately 30 participants per session.
(3) Social groups: Group registration requires a minimum of 20 people per session. If the actual number of attendees on the day of the class is less than 20, curriculum services will not be provided.
Program Content: The Plan's curriculum encompasses water sources, tap water, sewage treatment and reclaimed water, as well as drainage and flood prevention. Content planning involves on-site visits to the environmental education venues closely related to Taipei's water resources: (1) Feitsui Reservoir Environmental Learning Center, (2) Taipei Water Park Environmental Education Center, (3) Dihua Sewage Treatment Plant, (4) Neihu Sewage Treatment Plant, and (5) Xinsheng Jianguo Pumping Station.
This allows participants to understand the entire cycle from water sources, tap water purification and supply, to sewage treatment and reuse, and hydraulic disaster prevention, providing comprehensive water environment education activities. The Plan includes courses numbered 1 to 14. School groups can freely combine these into half-day or full-day itineraries. The course contents are outlined below:(Course No. 12-14, reservations are expected to open in mid-March 2026)
