The Gongguan Water Purification Plant operates through a series of pools and machine rooms with distinct functions. To ensure water safety and prevent algae growth and chlorine depletion, the plant’s purification tanks were covered in 2009, and solar panels generating approximately 92.4KWp were installed. This solar energy powers the main administration building, with excess energy distributed to other parts of the plant, achieving energy savings and carbon reduction goals.
During water treatment, the process separates water from sludge. The water is recycled, while the sludge is compressed into silt cakes and further processed into bricks, making the Gongguan Plant a fully zero-emissions, environmentally friendly purification facility.
